Welcome to
The Department of Forest Resource Management

Short presentation of our field of action

Research: The department carries out research and post-graduate education within the fields of forest management planning, remote sensing, forest technology, forest inventory and environmental monitoring. Activities are focused on combining work in the respective field with multi-disciplinary projects, which gives unique opportunities to develop unified concepts for forest resource management and environmental monitoring. An important part of the activities is represented by the National Forest Inventory, which means that the department carries a significant responsibility for supplying society with information about the forest. The activities also encompass statistical consultation and support in the use of geographical information systems (GIS) to other researchers.

Education: The department gives courses in statistics, computer science, forest management planning, forest inventory, forest technology, remote sensing, GIS and environmental monitoring.
